Data Usage Policy

Last updated: August 11, 2026

1. How this relates to our Privacy Policy

Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect and your rights over it. This Data Usage Policy goes one level deeper: it explains, feature by feature, what we actually do with store and platform data — including AI-powered features, aggregated analytics, and the third parties we share data with to run the platform.

2. Data isolation between stores

Every store on StoreKit is isolated from every other store. A merchant's products, orders, customers, and analytics are never visible to, or usable by, another merchant. This isolation is enforced at the application and database level on every store-scoped request, not just in the user interface.

3. AI-powered features

StoreKit includes optional AI features — AI Insights, the AI Assistant, and AI-generated product content — configurable per platform deployment. When you use one of these features:

  • The relevant store data needed to answer your request (e.g. recent orders, product details, the question you asked) is sent to our AI provider solely to generate that response.
  • Your data is not pooled with other merchants' data, and is not used to train a shared or public model. Under our AI provider's standard API terms, data submitted through the API is not used to train their models.
  • AI-generated output (insights, draft copy, chat replies) is a suggestion — you review and decide whether to use it. We do not take automated actions on your store based solely on AI output without you initiating or approving them.
  • You can ask us to disable AI features for your store at any time by contacting support@storekit.online.

4. Aggregated and platform-level analytics

We use platform-wide usage data — in aggregate and, where practical, de-identified — to operate and improve StoreKit: understanding which features are used, diagnosing performance issues, and informing our product roadmap. Aggregated statistics of this kind are not shared with other merchants in a way that identifies your store or its performance individually.

5. Who we share data with

We don't sell data. We do share the minimum data necessary with service providers who help us run the platform, each bound by contract to use it only to provide their service to us:

  • Payments: Razorpay, Stripe, and Cashfree process payments and handle card data directly — we never store raw card numbers.
  • Messaging: transactional email, SMS, and WhatsApp providers deliver order and account notifications on our and merchants' behalf.
  • AI: our configured AI provider, when a store has AI features enabled (see Section 3).
  • Infrastructure: our hosting and storage providers, who host the platform and uploaded media.

A current list of active sub-processor categories is available on request from support@storekit.online.

6. Customer data collected through a store

When a shopper places an order or creates an account on a merchant's store, the merchant is the data controller for that customer's information — they decide what it's used for (fulfilment, marketing, support). StoreKit acts as a data processor, storing and processing that data on the merchant's instructions and using it only to provide the platform.

7. Retention and deletion

Data usage practices in this policy follow the retention periods set out in our Privacy Policy. When a merchant deletes their store or account, their data is removed from active use, subject to the legal and tax retention periods described there.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Data Usage Policy as our features and vendors change. Material changes will be announced the same way as Privacy Policy changes — by email or a notice on the platform.
